Baker opens its second Textile House location in the newly redesigned Chicago Showroom at the Merchandise Mart. The initial launch was in the New York showroom at 200 expanding its traditional business with a new offering of textiles including over 1,300 fabrics. The new patterns focus on foundational textures, saturated color and decorative designs.
“This new offering of textiles signals Baker‘s shift from being just a luxury furniture resource to becoming a complete resource for the design community,” said Baker president Russell Towner. Baker‘s world-renowned furniture line represents a broad range of periods, styles and global influences. The addition of this significant textile offering, including wall coverings and trims, will establish an unparalleled offering to assist designers as they create relevant, cohesive interiors.
“The new showroom signals Baker’s shift from the traditional showroom model to an essential destination,” says Baker President Russell Towner. “The new dynamic platform will establish an unparalleled offering to assist designers as they create relevant, cohesive interiors for today’s culture and passions.”
The collection includes various colors and patterns of velvet, wool, mohair, linen, silk, chenille, embroidery, prints, metallic textures, stripes and damask. Baker has also used this launch to broaden its selection beyond only upholstery weight fabrics. In keeping with its legacy of artisan craftsmanship, Baker textiles are crafted all around the globe, including in Belgium, Italy, India, the United Kingdom, as well as the U.S.
The Baker Showroom concept will be rolled out globally to other Baker showrooms and locations in the near future.
